Beach marriage proposal goes viral when couple's golden retriever gets the zoomies after boyfriend gets down on one knee: 'The one who is the happiest is the dog'

Doggos may not understand marriage proposals, but they do understand one thing: love.

Golden retrievers, especially, are the ultimate hype guys. All you have to do is give them the slightest hint of pawsitivity and they've already launched into space with happiness. They're bred that way, and if we're being honest, we think they're the pinnacle of modern dog breeding. They're great with kids, have no concept of fear or aggression, and love to be happy. They're also very excitable, which we can see in the video below, thanks to the overwhelmingly joyful emotions coming from their pawrents.

The fiancé gets down on one knee, preparing to propose to his girlfriend, and that's enough to get their doggo going. As he continues his romantic proposal, you can't help but giggle at the dog that clearly cannot contain his excitement. He may not understand that he's now the successful child of two humans who love him, but he understand that something great is happening. And what's great about these golden puppers is that they wear their joy on their sleeve (or their paws?) for all of us to feel.

What makes this video so great is how adorable the dog is amidst a very serious moment from the two humans who love him most. She's crying, he's nervous, and the dog ignores them all because he's too excited from their rushing emotions. It's such a dog thing to do, and you are going to be hard-pressed to contain your smile while you watch it.

Our doggo loves the beach, probably about as much as this doggo here. As soon as her paws touch the sand, she's off into zoomie-land. You can't stop her, even if you try. Just something about the sand underneath her feet makes her excited. But don't even think about trying to get her in the water. She likes to suntan, but not to swim.

Golden retrievers have such a strong drive for physical affection that they will literally force themselves in between the two of you in order to be a part of your embrace. We had a golden or two when we were kids, and if we tried to stop petting them, they would literally move our hands back to them so we would keep going.
